I don’t believe the wire is actually silver – it’s reclaimed from the armouring on “armoured cable” and “armoured pipes” using in plumbing and electrics.  Some mysterious alloy.  If you work in the industries that I recycle, please tell me more – e-mail jed2f4 at yahoo dot co .uk
